Novitec Ferrari 296 GTB
The Ferrari 296 GTB has taken the hearts of sports car enthusiasts by storm with its innovative hybrid technology. NOVITEC makes the fast mid-engine car even more spectacular with a sophisticated refinement range. The NOVITEC bodywork components are made from exposed-structure carbon and give the two-seater even more thrilling looks. In addition, thanks to fine-tuning in the wind tunnel, they also increase the Berlinetta’s aerodynamic downforce at high speeds, resulting in further optimized handling stability. NOVITEC in cooperation with US wheel manufacturer Vossen developed a tailor-made staggered tire/wheel combination with diameters of 21 and 22 inches for the 296 GTB that makes perfect use of the space in the wheel wells. A coilover suspension or sports springs from NOVITEC give the car even more dynamic handling. NOVITEC also offers a professional upgrade for the twin-turbo V6 engine of the hybrid sports car. High-efficiency turbo inlets in concert with a NOVITEC high-performance exhaust system and sports catalysts coax an additional 38 horsepower from the engine. As a result, the hybrid drive then produces a system output of 638 kW / 868 hp. Exclusive options for the interior round out the NOVITEC product range for the Italian sports car. In order to give the Ferrari even more thrilling looks and increase aerodynamic downforce at the same time, the NOVITEC designers developed a host of sophisticated components that are produced from exposed-structure carbon and finished with a high-gloss clear coat. They give the 296 GTB full-blooded racing looks and, as tests in the wind tunnel showed, they also benefit the aerodynamics. The NOVITEC lip spoiler at the front for the central air intake in the production bumper and the ducktail rear spoiler were designed to achieve an optimal aerodynamic balance between the front and rear axle. Alternatively, the rear end can also be enhanced with an exposed-carbon element for the retractable production spoiler or with a subtle rear lip spoiler. The diffuser and the side sections of the rear fascia are also made from this hi-tech composite. The thrillingly styled NOVITEC rocker panels create an aerodynamically optimal transition from the front to the rear wheel arches. Carbon trim on the exterior mirrors and the quarter glass adds further sporty touches, as do the carbon scoops on the air intakes for the engine. To make perfect use of the available space under the wheel arches, Vossen designed the new NOVITEC NF11 wheels for the German automotive refinement specialist. These high-end rims
feature five twin-spokes and centerlock-look hub covers and are produced using state-of-the-art forging technology and CNC machining. They come with various surface finishes and in 72 colors. The choice of a combination of size 9.5Jx21 wheels at the front and size 11.5Jx22 on the rear axle further emphasizes the wedge shape of the two-seater. The front axle runs on high-performance tires of size 255/30 ZR 21. Tires of size 335/25 ZR 22 at the rear deliver outstanding grip. The NOVITEC sports springs are tailored to these extreme low-profile tires. They lower the ride height of the Ferrari by about 35 millimeters. A NOVITEC stainless coilover suspension withmulti-adjustable ride height and damping rate is available as an alternative. Different versions of this option are available for the 296 GTB models with or without Fiorano package. A feature that further optimizes the daily practicality of the coupe is also available for these variants. The hydraulic NOVITEC front lift system allows raising the front end of the car by about 40 millimeters at the touch of a button in the cockpit. This makes it easier to navigate underground parking ramps or speed bumps. The front end lowers back down to its original position at another tap on the switch or automatically upon reaching a speed of 80 km/h. NOVITEC combines the aerodynamics and suspension upgrades with even more power. To this end, the engine specialists developed an efficient package of custom turbo inlets and an exhaust system with optimized gas flow. It is available made from stainless steel or from INCONEL, the hi-tech alloy also used in Formula 1 racing. All components of the NOVITEC exhaust systems are fully thermally insulated for optimized temperature control. This effect can be further amplified for the INCONEL version with 999 fine gold plating. Actively controlled butterfly valves integrated into the exhaust are optionally available. They allow choosing between a sporty exhaust note and a sound reminiscent of motor racing from inside the cockpit. The styling of the NOVITEC exhaust system features various variants of two 102mm exhaust tips, including the classy 999 fine gold plating, which are harmoniously integrated into the rear end with a precise-fit mesh insert. The finishing touch to the modifications on the exhaust side is provided by 100-cell metal catalysts. At the highest configuration level, these modifications result in an increase in peak power by 28 kW / 38 hp. The MGU-K electric drive positioned behind the V6 mid-mounted engine remains untouched. NOVITEC frames both power units with exposed-carbon engine bay panels. With a system output of 638 kW / 868 hp, the hybrid sports car delivers even more dynamic performance on the road.
